Description

Killer Dragon with GM Simon Williams
The Dragon variation is considered to be one of the sharpest openings in chess. Made popular due to its aggressive nature, it is little wonder that the Dragon has attracted the likes of world number one Magnus Carlsen as one of its enthusiasts.

The first DVD in this two-part series focuses mainly on the sharpest lines of the Dragon Variation, namely the Yugoslav Attack. However, alternative lines are also given for those players wishing to shy away from the reams of theory associated with this opening.

The second DVD in this two-part series focuses on the Dragadorf variation whereby never seen before ideas are presented. The classical lines of the Dragon are also explored.

Follow Ginger GM supremo, Grandmaster Simon Williams, as he systematically explains the ideas behind this electrifying opening.

Warning: DVD not suitable for the fainthearted!

Hi,
Simon, I have never played sicilian in my life, Is this dvd going to help me to learn complete Sicilian dragon ? Is it covers all possible line if white wants to avoid sicilian like wing gambit or smith morra gambit etc? Have u also covered , how to play against 2 f 4 or 2 c3?
Or is this dvd only for those players who have knowledge of Sicilian dragon?

Comments

Hi Israr,

The DVD is based on a opening system starting after the moves 1 e4 c5 2 Nf3 d6 3 d4 cxd4 4 Nxd4 Nf6 5 Nc3 g6. So it does not cover any anti Sicilian lines. To cover everything would have made the DVD’s far too long!

When it comes to the Dragon though, I have covered everything that I think it is possible to do in a DVD. I have looked at a number of complicated variations and at the Accerlerated Dragadorf in DVD 2.

The DVD is pretty heavy going, more heavy then anything else on the market but I have tried to also explain the main concepts behind the opening, so viewers should be able to grasp the basic plans after seeing the DVD.

Another thing that I have aimed to do is to give Black the option of at least two different lines that he can play against White’s sharpest options. One theoretical line and one side line. That way the viewer can chose how he wants to learn the game. He can either learn a lot of theoy or play the less anaylised line!

Simon, Welcome back after a holiday without chess, I have all your previous DVDs and no doubt, they all are best, and i hope this DVD is gonna rock. I think, you should give a try of making a DVD on Anti Sicilians (Killer Anti Sicilian) in near future, so that we will be able to play sicilian without fear ( I hope, i’ve given you the idea of your new dvd :) ). We, people are still waiting for something for white repertoire like Killer e4 or Killer d4 or Killer c4. I hope you have something for us in pipeline. Best luck for your future releases and thanks for your contributions in chess world.

Hi Simon!

The decision of ordering the DVD’s would certainly become much easier to me if
[DVD 1 Contents coming soon!] got replaced by some real list of contents. I would assume that they are fixed by now.

I purchase your two French DVD’s and like them a great deal.

Congrats, very nice presentation. I have been using dvd’s to study chess and very often have difficult grasping lots of it due to the manner of presentation. However, yours are really the teacher teaching his students.

Any one voice any negative comments, send his comments and email to me.

Anyway, I just found out that there is your French ebook for purchase.
Can I do better getting the ebook, or will it be a duplication in that I can
Obtain all that I need to study the French from your dvd’s alone.

Thanks,

Herbert

Hi Simon,

The Killer Sicilian DVD’s, are they two separate discs? What is the time length of the discs?

Thank you.

Darryl

Hi Herbert,

Thank you for the kind comments! The e-book deals with different material to what I have in the DVD so it may well be worth purchasing. Good luck with the French!

Thanks,

Simon

The DVD’s are roughly each 6 hours long. They come in two seperate DVD boxes.

Hope that helps.

Thanx Simon, I have both the dvds, and i liked the accelerated dragadorf. It is less theoretical and fun opening. I have 3/3 victory by using this opening. I hope u provide more stuff on accelerated dragadorf, but i still have some problems against anti sicilians, Eagerly waiting for new dvds for white. I hope u break the ice soon.

Hi Simon!

Are both dragon dvd’s out now? If so, I would most probably order them both, although the contents of dvd 1 would be interesting to know in advance.
If the dvd’s are not yet released, please send me a message as soon as they are out, since otherwise I will keep checking your website with disappointment.

Best wishes, Roland

Comments

Both DVDs have been out for a while now. DVD one basically covers the sharp main line Dragon whilst DVD two deals with the classical systems and the ‘Dragadorf’.

Cheers,

Simon

Ok, thanks for the info! Then I will order the DVD’s.
I would suggest that you remove the note “Released soon – pre-order now!”.
