E-Book/PDF/Chessbase File for Killer Dutch DVD

Here at gingergm.com we are going to offer a very special service to customers who have brought the DVD through the website.

We are going to offer every customer of gingergm a free e-book/cbv/pdf file of the DVD.

So basically this means that everyone out there will be able to look at the variations on their computer in word/chessbase as well as on their DVD player.

In other words you will be getting an updated book on the Classical Dutch for free!!!

We are not quite ready to release this file yet as there are a couple of copyright/technical issues that we need to overcome.

I will plan to send this out to every gingergm.com customer for free in around about 2/3 months time. It will be available for purchase to other customers for a set price.

I am still not sure what the best format will be:

1) Chessbase file?

2) Word file (Book)?

Please leave your comments on what format you would prefer.

Hello Simon,

first let me thank you for you DVD, which is a milestone in terms of presentation and a brilliant piece of instruction, and also for your kind little note.

I think a PGN or Chessbase file would suit me very much since I own your book on the Classical Dutch anyway.

I’m very pleased to learn about your new DVD-project (possibly on the French?) and I’ll be exited to buy it as soon as it will be released.

So have a good time!
Sincerely yours,
Stefan Niessen

Hi Simon,

I haven’t gotten around to buying the DVD yet. But, I wouldn’t hesitate any further if I knew that you were definitely going to provide a chessbase file to accompany it. We all use computers now and end up having to upload our chess material to it anyway (which can be time consuming and a real pain). A DVD + cbv file combination would be very attractive and a great selling point.

All the best.

I would prefer pgn or CB format.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness in providing this file.

I was very excited that you made a different type of dvd on the dutch. I don’t play it , but I’m going to. I ordered your book and futurelistic and fantastic dvd. I’m not a highly lrated player but appreciate your explanations which make the it easy for me to understand and fun.to watch. I .don’t play the french, but if you make a dvd on it i will buy it.( I ‘ll buy anything you make) I’m learning a lot because you explain the ideas of the moves. in a simple way.
Thank you. I think ” I’ll give it a go .” Sincerely, Gerald Kaplan

I think that’s a great idea to make the book version to accompany the DVD. Some of us quite like taking a break from the screen!

BTW please could you make it also available in .pdf format as not everyone uses Chessbase products. Many thanks!

Comments

Cheers! I am glad the DVD has been working well for you, do I get a cut of your winnings?

Comments

Hi Everyone.

I think that I will probably bring the material out as a word document. This is mainly so that I do not get into any trouble with chessbase for copyright reasons. It may take me a bit of time transferring the material over. I will also try to add diagrams etc, so basically it will be a book on the Dutch.

I will keep this as a deal for anyone who buys directly through http://www.gingergm.com.

chessbase has become the standard

Comments

Hi Chris,
Nice game, whats your rating doing at 1758, far too low!!

Comments

ChessBase format would be the most useful. Those who don’t own CB products can download ChessBase Light for free.

Comments

I recently purchased the DVD and found it to be excellent!!
I really like the way you explain the reason why certain moves are played.
Being over 50 years of age, I guess I like the pdf file idea.
Again , Simon.

Comments

Word file is nice. It’s easy to generate a PDF and we can edit it with our own observations and make it into a more personal workbook.

Comments

Dear Simon,
I have bought your DVD but not from your website (sorry to say) but from Chess Direct. Am enjoying it very much. I’m very taken by the idea of your collection of games, and earlier you said that it would be available for a fee, for those like me, not direct purchasers. I’d very much like to hear from you when this happens.

Yours,

John

Hi John,

Thank you for your kind comments. At some point in the future I will be bringing out an electronic version of the Dutch DVD. I will be offering it for free to people who brought the DVD through gingergm and there will be a small charge for other people. I will put a post up when it is ready for download.

Hope that helps.

Simon

I ordered your DVD on line (and I like it very much); I’d prefer either a PGN or a CB version, if it’s still up for debate.

I have been playing the Classical Dutch since the 1960′s – ( e.g. see my game against Suba, 1972 Graz, World Students Champs). I really liked this Killer Dutch DVD!

Now I would like to download the pdf file of the main variations. Where do I get this file?

Hi
I’ve recently bought your DVD “Killer Dutch”. I’m enjoying it a lot, I think It’s great. On the DVD you say I can print out the PDF file of the games shown. Where can I find them? I don’t seem to see them on the DVD.
With thanks

Just got a book to finish off and then I can spend all my time putting these ebooks together. My work load has suddenly shot up since I annouced the ebooks but I will finish them at some point! On the plus side they should be more up to date!

Hi Simon,
I purchased your Killer Dutch DVD (through chesscafe.com) and enjoyed it thoroughly, particularly the Ye Old Faithful variation. However, I’m unable to find a way to obtain the pdf that you mention on the DVD. I’d like to have your pdf as soon as possible as I love your Dutch system. I also purchased both Killer French DVDs and would like to have those pdf as well. I’ve also sent an email to gingergm.com and have had no response.
Much thanks for your expertise and enthusiasm,
Dan Dodson
