Simon, congratulations on the material. Very didatic indeed, the way you reinforce the concepts is a must.

I just started to using my new knowledge and got a point with a nice Q sacrifice and a draw in a simul against a 2575 GM. So far so good.

Hi there,

The DVD only covers the Classical Dutch and any other deviations that White might try out early on in the game. For example 1 d4 f5 2 e4!?, 2 Nc3 etc. I am afriad we run out of room on the DVD to cover everything!

Hi Simon,

Does this DVD cover just the Classical Dutch or do you address the Stonewall and the Leningrad as well?

Hi Simon,

Just working my way thru dvd for first time. Finding it a real education but also very entertaining. In the 2. Bg5 section you mention a downloadable pdf file, where can I find this?

Thanks

I agree with the very favourable feedback already expressed.
Until now I've relied on books as my key instructional aid - as CDs/DVDs have always seemed too expensive - so this is my first purchase of this format. I'm a definite convert - particularly given the completeness of the coverage given.

I found a lot of interesting and useful material. The selection of illustrative master games was particularly effective in reinforcing the points you were making. My personal favourite from your recommendations - the one against White's (Tromp type) 2.Bg5 move - as this is one I know I'll get to bash out against my club mate who always uses the Tromp against the Dutch (and well anything else he can really). On your comment about your preferred initial move order, will I have to 'book up' on the French just in case?

I have one small carp...? I play the DVD through the TV and the the sound level increases noticeably when the film clips - eg of the Chessboxing - are running.
