I have recently just returned from playing at the London Chess Classic, what an event! More on that later. To start with I thought that I would show a game that I had, with the Black pieces, against Robert Bellin.
A promotional film leading up to the release of chess grandmaster Simon Williams’ new DVD ‘The Classical Dutch’ due to be released at the Hastings Chess Tournament in December 2009.
Footage includes chess at Trafalgar Square, chess-boxing and games with UK chess team ‘The Drunken Knights’. A Chilli Pepper Films production.

It’s 3 o’clock in the morning and I wake to find myself covered in pork pie wrappers, in Derbyshire and travelling at 55 mph. Thankfully this isn’t the usual manner of my first waking moment but one which clearly demands further explanation.
One of the strongest local league matches ever took place on the 1st of December. Gary O’Grady’s team, the Drunken Knights – Surrey Branch took on the almighty Sandhurst team.
Myself and a number of other spectators took a trip down to the Star pub in Godalming to see how things would turn out (of course this did include sampling some of the Belgium beer on offer!).
