Ay, am well. You have a fine memory good sir. Yeah, that was the one. Terrible game, but I was playing all sorts of tripe in those days. Am a tad better now, but no opportunity to get my rating up somewhere proper.

Good time at that Lloyds Masters eh? Pity they dont have tournaments there anymore. Playing the British in a succession of dismal seaside towns not so appealing, oddly enough.

Might be back in Blighty for a year next year. For study - doctorate, finally. Looks like Bristol. With the family. Hope we can have a Simons reunion somewhere. Ansell, Williams, Lunn, Bibby. 4NCL lineup perhaps?

Are you The Webmaster here btw?

Mail me on bibs74@yahoo.co.uk for a proper chat. Not sure Si W's website the proper place...! But sure he will be happy bringing old friends back in contact :)

Hello Bibs,

How are you sir?

I remember your game vs Kamsky, Lloyds Bank Masters circa 1989 right??

Hope you're well..

I won't be trying the chessboxing myself, but if they do the drinking round first, I might have a chance!

Hi Si,

Chessboxing. Top idea. A mate of mine arbited at the Tokyo fight a couple of years back and said it was a great do.

Suggest Kamsky's dad as A Contender. A noted pugilist and a fearsome-looking fella if anyone has seen him in the flesh. I played Kamsky when we were both wee lads (we are same age). Remember his dad as a bear of a man - quite a lurking, menacing presence.

Time for you to get to the gym. 'Eye of the Tiger' on loop on your walkman, work off the lagers, and be cheering you on in the ring soon.

ta ra for now,
Simon B
Kobe, Japan
